NeXeNyeah i was gunna say the what is it called head first design patterns, good refresh on the go4?
NeXeNpersonally read it, nice except it's like uh a junior high textbook. but otherwise, the writing is good. but all the margin stuff is ....marginal. though there were a few patterns they snipped short to expand on each one more
jbosmansregarding architecture i'm tempted to say "i want a new project so i can use spring modulith from the get-go", because there's a lot of good in there. Then again, (even a bit of) event driven arch can bring its own can(s) of worms etc
jbosmansstill, tempted
dreamrealheh
dreamrealmodulith != event-driven but yeah
jbosmansasync events stored to db ?
ParaAre you even a real software dev if you haven't built at least one queue backed event driven application.
jbosmansit doesn't have to be event driven
dreamrealmodulith is about enforcement of architectural constraints, not specific designs, but
dreamrealit would be interesting to see a broad-ish coverage of architecture for java developers, though
dreamrealor for ANY developers, really, java wouldn't have to factor in
dreamrealGoF exists but it's a little long in the tooth; maybe it's still enough
jbosmanswell i fwiw suggested clean arch before
dreamrealyes, bob martin's not a bad suggestion, but does he cover teh spectrum of designs?
jbosmansi'd guess he doesn't
dreamrealI thought he covered program architecture, but that's not really *architecture*
dreamrealfrom what I've read of him, it's well-worth paying attention to
jbosmansimho he did a good job
dreamrealyeah
dreamrealhe's a bit of a lightning rod personally but people who get distracted by that crap get what they deserve
