deebomy gradle hole deepens, anyone know how to get implementation(platform('bom coordinates')) to work with testFixturesImplementation() :)
BombeEw, nobody wants to hear about your gradle hole… :D
deeboworks ok with platform applied to testFixturesImplementation separately, guess it doesnt apply by default or something
deepyI'm not sure I'd expect implementation to pass on elsewhere
[twisti]dreamreal: is bytecode.news yours ? if so, as a user: printing should probably default to light theme, even if dark theme is selected for viewing

dreamreal[twisti]: ooo will file an issue, I'm not sure how to do that but I'll figure it out
BombeHmm, the print preview of macOS shows the page with light theme, even if I select the stupid theme before printing.
[twisti]interesting, windows 11 + firefox here. might it take os level theme ? my windows is also set to dark
dreamrealIt should use the OS level theme to display, not sure about printing
dreamrealWhat did you print, just out of interest? (Curious what people see of value on the site)
dreamrealI'm working on a few things for the site, but they're taking time since work has a release: the idea was actually that the community would post stuff as well, but that hasn't really happened a lot yet
dreamrealwhat the site is is how *I* see things as being interesting, and it wasn't really supposed to be about me very much
dreamrealand 1.2.7 has been deployed, it has an explicit print media style that uses light mode, I *think*

BombeEven with macOS set to dark, printing the front page of bytecode.news with either scheme selected shows black-on-white in the print preview, so everything’s fine here. :)
dreamrealMay be a macos oddity, though: when I filed the bug, I pointed out that it was win11+firefox for record-keeping. MacOS gets a lot of things right that other OSes struggle with, and vice versa. Well, sometimes. I didn't mean it, Siri. I typed it for the punters who're too stupid to know the difference. Please keep performing well.
dreamrealI don't even know if I have firefox *installed*, actually
dreamrealI'd have to install it to try it
dreamrealand I don't have a windows machine on which I can install it... oh, wait, yes I do
dreamrealTWO of them, actually, dang
dreamrealcan't print on one, and the other I'm leaving alone

deepyeven print to pdf/xps/etc?
deeboprint colors look fine on linux (btw) + firefox
deebomy printer could use some white on black article prints though, so it doesnt think it's retired
dreamrealdeepy: media printing isn't the same as print printing, though
deeboisn't printing in browsers just a specific stylesheet, a default one if the page doesn't define anything
deepyI would've assumed it to be close enough for the current use-case, I mean it is going through the same print dialog and it's a thing that presents itself as a printer
deeboi remember we did some hackery with that + print to pdf since dealing with pdf generation was so ass
dreamrealdeepy: one other wrinkle here: I hate that machine with vile passion
dreamrealI had to use it yesterday and nearly slammed it shut in rage
deepylast time I did any printing I was doing literal hackery, it was a hackathon and I made Exception.printStackTrace() actually print it
deepylike 7 years ago
dreamrealif it was MY machine personally owned I would have punished one of my kids with it; "You mowed the lawn three days late, your punishment is... THE DELL."
deepydreamreal: that's fair, I can relate, despite my equivalent machine being a desktop I too have felt like slamming it shut in a rage
dreamrealdeepy: yesterday, DURING A MEETING, Windows helpfully informed me that it was going to reboot in one minute... and gave me two seconds
deepyoh that reminds me, I need to update my work browser
jreicherThat's not a Windows thing. That's a corporate fleet management hing. Be sure to send a thank you card to the desktop fleet manager.
dreamrealit does not help that that machine is very constrained due to corporate security policies
deepyI thought it was a Windows thing starting in 10
dreamrealjreicher: oh, no lie. I actually DID talk to corporate IT about it, too.
dreamrealLet's just say they know my name. And they tend to say things like "oh, that's the mac guy, right? ... shit, we need that bozo."
