deebocan you refer to the parent / root project in a gradle submodule somehow? e.g. root = spring boot app, child1 = client for the spring boot app, and i'd like to start the app during a test, without any testcontainer hackery or such, just use @SpringBootTest(ParentApp.class) with something like `testImplementation rootProject`
deebowhich seems to work in idea dependencies, but not for gradle itself
deebogradle dependencies actually properly lists the dependency, but still can't find any classes

ParaKinda but not really. Maybe.
ParaI remember that + multimodules being PITA with Gradle, and then the space shifted, and I stopped caring and moved back to Maven.

deebohmpf this is annoying, need to be able to test that the client actually works

MikeBuxdeebo, how about integration tests?
deeboah i think this is about the spring boot plugin, the child project is trying to use a -plain.jar version of it

deeboyeah works fine when doing `testImplementation rootProject` and rootProject config has `jar { enabled = true }` so it builds both a plain jar and the spring-boot jar
dreamrealdeebo: why are you not testing THE CLIENT
dreamrealYou shouldn't be relying on a parent project to test a child module

deeboi'm testing that the various implementations integrate properly with what ever the underlying version of spring boot / spring graphql / etc is, already fixed one issue with the test :)
