  43. jreicher The builtin Emacs LSP client can show a (collapsible) tree diagram of the type hierarchy (as supplied by the language server). Would be nicer if it could do a DAG as I have some diamond inheritance, but I'm still appreciating that it does anything like this at all as the type hierarchy I've ended up with is quite complicated (for me).

  45. dreamreal IntelliJ has had an active UML diagram for a while - and it was heavily influenced by together/j's design
  46. dreamreal the idea isn't new at all

  48. deebo i used some "generate plantuml" idea plugin a few times that supported databases, language types etc, but had to remove it for one reason or another
  49. cheeser UML is underrated. largely because back in the day it was overhyped.
  50. jreicher dreamreal: oh I know the idea isn't new, I'm just glad it's present in more tools now. I expect LSP is still a bit behind IntelliJ in this regard though.
  51. jreicher Love UML. Particularly for this (complicated class designs)

  65. dmlloyd I used to be quite a fan of UML for class diagrams. But these days, I find a collapsable tree-formatted hierarchy view to be much more useful and practical
  66. cheeser except type hierarchies usually aren't trees. but if you only care about the the concrete types that works, too.
  67. cheeser i need to build ... *something* for this rats nest of types we have here at work. data classes with delegated properties and interfaces.

  121. NeXeN what if a password prompt were to render your password as random other characters and numbers and letters, then maybe sometimes a 1 in 3 chance it outputs 2 or 0 characters or 1 but always randomness so someone looking over your shoulder taking notes will be wasting their time
  122. jreicher Oh wow. That puts me in mind of scramble suits from A Scanner Darkly
